The Effect of Instrumental Activities of Daily Living(IADL) on Memory training in Mild Cognitive Impairment

Abstract
Objective: The purpose of this study is to find out effects that a Instrumental activities of daily living(IADL) related to memory of a mild cognitive impair ment.

Methods: 16 mild cognitive impairment patients were compared pre-post inter vention. Training was performed 5 times a week and 30 minutes for each round for 4 weeks. The Digit span test were performed for memory, and PCG IADL were performed for IADL.

Results: After the training, the improvement of forward in Digit span test was 7.31¡¾1.95 to 8.81¡¾2.07(p<.05), and backward was 5.18¡¾1.16 to 6.06¡¾1.12(p<.005). use of telephone, shopping, care of medication in PCG IADL showed significant improvement(p<.05).

Conclusion: Spaced retrieval training(SRT) and Errorless learning lead a positive effect of memory and I-ADL. Therefore, this study suggest a SRT and Errorless learning as on strategy of an intervention type of the memory and IADL. There needed further research which could find out other factors affect in IADL and that improved.
